I seek the forgiveness of Allah, the Mighty, whom there is none worthy of worship except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer, and I turn to Him in repentance.

About Dua for Forgiveness & Its Spiritual Virtues

Authentic context, Hadith references, and Sunnah guidelines for reciting this Dua:

Istighfar (seeking Allah's forgiveness) is one of the most powerful spiritual practices in Islam. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), despite being sinless, recited Istighfar more than 70 to 100 times every single day (Sahih al-Bukhari). Reciting 'Astaghfirullah al-'Adheem' regularly removes spiritual burdens, erases past transgressions, alleviates anxiety, and unlocks divine sustenance (Rizq) and rain, as promised in Surah Nuh (71:10-12). Scholars recommend making a daily habit of reciting 100 Istighfar recitations on your digital Tasbih counter to maintain heart purity and continuous divine protection.
