✦What is Namaz-e-Janazah (Funeral Prayer)?
Namaz-e-Janazah is a communal obligation (Fard Kifayah) performed for a deceased Muslim before burial. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: "Whoever attends a funeral until prayer is offered will receive one Qirat of reward (equal to Mount Uhud)." (Sahih al-Bukhari 1325).
Janazah prayer is performed standing up without any Ruku (bowing) or Sajdah (prostration).
