"English-first step-by-step guide to praying Salatul Tasbeeh (The Prayer of Glorification). Learn how to count all 300 recitations across 4 Rakats for complete forgiveness of sins."

What is Salatul Tasbeeh?

Salatul Tasbeeh (The Prayer of Glorification) is a special 4-Rakat voluntary prayer taught by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to his uncle Abbas (RA). The Prophet (PBUH) promised that performing this prayer forgives all sins — past, present, old, new, accidental, or intentional (Sunan Abi Dawud 1297).

The Special Tasbeeh Formula (Recited 300 Times Total)

سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَلَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ

SubhanAllahi wal-Hamdu lillahi wa La ilaha illallahu wallahu Akbar (Glory be to Allah, All praise is due to Allah, There is no deity except Allah, and Allah is the Greatest).

Breakdown of 75 Recitations Per Rakat (4 Rakats = 300 Total)

  • Step 1After Sana (before Surah Al-Fatiha): 15 times.
  • Step 2After Surah Al-Fatiha + another Surah (before Ruku): 10 times.
  • Step 3While in Ruku (after Subhana Rabbiyal Azeem): 10 times.
  • Step 4Standing up from Ruku (Qiyam/I'tidal): 10 times.
  • Step 5In 1st Sajdah (after Subhana Rabbiyal A'la): 10 times.
  • Step 6Sitting between two Sajdahs (Jalsa): 10 times.
  • Step 7In 2nd Sajdah: 10 times.

75 recitations per Rakat × 4 Rakats = 300 Total Recitations.
