The Greatest Verse in the Holy Quran: Ayatul Kursi

Ayat al-Kursi (The Verse of the Throne) is verse 255 of Surah Al-Baqarah. When Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) asked Ubayy ibn Ka'b (RA) which verse in the Quran is the greatest, Ubayy replied: "Allah and His Messenger know best." The Prophet (PBUH) repeated the question, and Ubayy answered: "Allah! There is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of all existence." The Prophet (PBUH) struck his chest lovingly and said: "May knowledge be pleasant for you, O Abu al-Mundhir!" (Sahih Muslim 810).

Top 4 Authentic Hadith Virtues of Ayatul Kursi

1. Direct Entry to Jannah After Every Fard Prayer Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) declared: "Whoever recites Ayat al-Kursi after every obligatory prayer, nothing stands between him and entering Paradise except death." (Al-Mu'jam al-Kabir by al-Tabarani & Sunan al-Kubra by al-Nasa'i, graded Sahih).

2. Ultimate Divine Protection Before Sleeping In a famous narration in Sahih al-Bukhari (2311), Abu Hurairah (RA) caught a thief stealing from Zakat date stores. The thief promised to teach him a secret: "When you go to bed, recite Ayat al-Kursi from beginning to end. A guardian from Allah will remain with you and no devil will come near you until morning." When informed, the Prophet (PBUH) remarked: "He told you the truth, though he is a liar. That was Satan."

3. Morning & Evening Guard Against Evil Reciting Ayatul Kursi once in the morning protects a Muslim from Jinns and evil until evening, and reciting it in the evening protects until morning (Al-Hakim 1/562).

4. Contains Allah's Greatest Name (Ism Allah al-A'dham) Scholars highlight that Ayatul Kursi contains Allah's names Al-Hayy (The Ever-Living) and Al-Qayyum (The Sustainer), through which supplications are answered.
