Meaning, spiritual background, and authentic virtues from the Sunnah

Uthman ibn Abi al-As (RA) complained to the Prophet ﷺ of severe bodily pain since embracing Islam. The Prophet ﷺ instructed him: 'Place your hand on the spot where you feel pain and say Bismillah three times, then say seven times: A'udhu billahi wa qudratihi min sharri ma ajidu wa uhadhir.' He reported that doing so cured him completely (Sahih Muslim 2202).
